According to the popcon statistics [1] and [2], sun-java6 is one of the most popular multiverse packages, and it is the most used one. If sun-java6 is installed on nearly 550,000 computers, and if more than 60,000 people use it regularly, isn't it strange that Ubuntu doesn't provide security updates? The real number of users is even higher, because participating in the popcon survey is optional.
