Looks like something just changed in today's kernel build from Andy. " * drop thinkpad ec and smapi support" https://launchpad.net/ubuntu/karmic/+source/linux/2.6.31-6.25
A bit terse, and should have included a reference to Andy's link, above, so that people would have a clue as to what is going on. According to Bug 297213 and related material, these aspects of Thinkpad support are being removed from the kernel over concerns regarding "an NDA that probably doesn't exist in the first place." It appears that Thinkpad users will have to go the DIY route (http://meandmyubuntu.blogspot.com/2009/05/getting-hdasp-to-work-on- jaunty.html). -- [karmic] please update tp_smapi https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/387756 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
