In addition to Ricardo's point, I don't want anybody with physical or
root access to my *home* machine to have my *work* chat account
passwords, and vice-versa.  Since (I hear) Empathy is becoming the
default chat client in Karmic, I think it's important to address this
bug before Karmic goes out, even if it's no more than adding some text
saying "your password will be stored on disk; if you don't like this you
can use one of these other chat packages".  Of course adding an option
to ask each time would be ideal.
