My situation is the similar to the last comment, but I don't notice any corruption until X loads (usplash appears fine). Only notice it when there is a significant amount of movement or change on the screen. Pointer motions don't cause anything, nor do clicking on buttons. GDM animations, the login, and just about everything else make the screen go crazy.
