I am running Ubuntu 9.04 64bit. I believe I can confirm this bug. I installed Earcandy 0.5 from this dev PPA using Synaptic Package Manager. The program appeared under APPLICATIONS>ACCESSORIES>Ear Candy. When I tried to run it, I received the following error message:
Could not launch "Ear Candy" failed to execute child process (no such file or directory) I then edited the startup properties of the menu selection to make the path /usr/bin/earcandy I assumed the command "earcandy" was one word like the folder "/usr/bin/share/earcandy/". I got another error message stating: Could not launch "Ear Candy" failed to execute child process '/usr/bin/earcandy' (no such file or directory) I read this bug report, looked a little closer at how the program was installed and noticed that in /usr/bin/, the actual command was "ear_candy" not "earcandy". I then re-edited the path to: /usr/bin/ear_candy The program started up as it should. I also tried installing the Ear Candy 0.5 .deb binary and it failed in a similar manner, no doubt because of the naming problem. -- Earcandy executable incorrectly named https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/399346 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
