Ubuntu Edgy, totem-gstreamer. The problem isn't that it tries to thumbnail repeatedly. The problem is that it fails because parts of the file are downloaded and parts aren't. And takes all available CPU power in failing. It would be nice if it didn't try thumbnailing bittorrent files, or didn't try thumbnailing anything that's downloading...
