As I noted above, I got it from bug 78037 :-) When starting up or
plugging in a card, do:

sudo ifconfig [interface] down
sudo iwconfig [interface] essid [essid] key [key]
sudo ifconfig [interface] up
sudo dhclient3 [interface]

I also listed this on the forums, with a note for people to add other
