The freeze does only happen on Ubuntu 9.04 32 Bit. The 64 Bit variant is not affected.
Anyway, it would help to accelerate the driver update process. For openSUSE, nVidia provides a package repository. Although nVidia updates even to the 185 series which is not quite stable. I would prefer that nVidia took care of providing Ubuntu update packages separated for series 180, 185, 190, etc. so for example if nVidia publishes 180.60, the next day all Ubuntu systems can be patched. If someone wants to migrate to another series, an upgrade package should be provided as well which lets the user track the newer series. Jockey already offers to install different series, only timely incremental upgrades are missing. -- system freezes and reboots during app startup https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/402975 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
