Public bug reported: I have a simple home LAN. I'm behind router which is connected to cable internet. IP addresses are assigned using DHCP. However, it is not that important I think.
When the network is down because of my ISP fault, logging to GNOME or launching new applications doesn't work. If I try to log in when the Internet is unreachable, loading GNOME takes ages. After minute or two, the desktop is completely unusable. I am not able to display any settings applet or launch any application like Firefox browser or Openoffice.org Writer. ** Affects: Ubuntu Importance: Undecided Status: Unconfirmed -- When the network is unavailable, Ubuntu desktop doesn't work https://launchpad.net/bugs/82544 -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
