Hello and thanks for your report,
May you please tell me whether or not you have activated sound support
for your virtual machine ? It is disabled by default with VirtualBox 2,
for instance.
If you launch "xfce4-mixer" (from the LiveCD), does it open normally or
does it trigger an error dialog (which would mean there is no support
for sound) ?
