Pidgin has a plugin for it, and here is described how to add the chat into empathy: https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=17907 but i am sure, that - when karmik koala become final the regular user will be a bit confused + when karmic koala become final, the regular user will be a bit confused to add it and do it every time after empathy update ;)
