Been struggling with "large" directories for weeks - anything over a few hundred files renders nautilus almost useless. I'd previously disabled all preview on images etc, but still took up to 1 minute to display large directories with images (for example).
Running Jaunty with 2 GB RAM, 2.4 GHz quad and NVIDIA 8600GT. Once Assistive Technolgies was disabled (in System - Control Centre. Then logout and back in again)... It's still not instantaneous, but can display up to 1000 files in a directory in a few seconds (the icons gradually appear thereafter). A vast improvement. Wow! FInally I have a usable file manager! (I feel sorry for those that may rely on AT) -- Nautilus is very slow in list mode with Assistive Technologies enabled (at-spi) https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/159042 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
