I've found a better solution for this problem. Have a look at this site: http://wiki.ubuntuusers.de/Baustelle/Asus_X5DIJ (The article above will propably updated 01.08.2009) This site is in german only!
Have a look under "Problemlösungen" (Problemsolutions). And then under "Sound". A copy of the contents of this specific point (made 30.07.2009): --- cut --- sudo -s wget ftp://ftp.kernel.org/pub/linux/kernel/people/tiwai/snapshot/alsa-driver-unstable-snapshot.tar.gz tar xf alsa-driver-unstable-snapshot.tar.gz cd alsa-driver-unstable ./configure --with-cards=hda-intel make make install reboot --- cut --- !! This fix the problem with the sound ... AND the sound is still there after hibernation or standby !! You don't need hda-verb anymore! Hope that helps much more people. -- no sound ASUS X5DIJ-SX018L and Intel 82801I (ICH9 Family) HD Audio Controller https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/393523 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
