Do you still have this issue with the new version in the ppa at https://launchpad.net/~openoffice-pkgs/+archive/ppa ? It worked fine for me with OOo 3.1.0. You do have to rerun fc-cache as root (or sudo fc- cache ) after installing the font just like with any other font though.
