Well, wireshark crashed, and playing is still working after I restarted
it. There must be something I do normally that somehow reserves or locks
an audio device, and then the player is unable to use it. I have noted
that right now, mpd is complaining:
ALSA lib pulse.c:272:(pulse_connect) PulseAudio: Unable to connect: Access 
denied
Jul 25 00:27 : Error opening ALSA device "default": Connection refused

...so I think this means I have other audio management issues causing my
troubles playing the RTP streams, and the bug is just the PortAudio
error message mentioned above.
