Public bug reported:

I noticed that Ubuntu still uses the Anticipatory disk scheduler by
default:

[EMAIL PROTECTED]:~$ cat /sys/block/hda/queue/scheduler
noop [anticipatory] deadline cfq
[EMAIL PROTECTED]:~$

Considering that (if I'm not mistaken) both RedHat and SuSE use CFQ by
default, shouldn't Ubuntu use CFQ too?

When one looks at the algorithm, it's obvious it could improve desktop
interactivity.

I also did some bonnie benchmarks a while back which also indicated that
cfq and deadline perform the best.

** Affects: linux-source-2.6.15 (Ubuntu)
     Importance: Untriaged
         Status: Unconfirmed
