For your convenience I applied the patch to current Karmic udev and uploaded it to my PPA: https://launchpad.net/~pitti/+archive/ppa so on current karmic, or the current karmic live CD, can you please install the updated udev package, and do the /lib/udev/keymap -i input/event6 exercise again?
