Jonathan, lowering the start up sequence of Skim didn't change anything
for me. After two weeks using Dapper and skim I still receive this
message at boot:

There was an error setting up inter-process communications for KDE. The
message returned by the system was:

Could not read network connection list.
/home/regis/.DCOPserver_regis__0

Please check that the "dcopserver" program is running!
