I've been seeing this frequently in 9.04. (Didn't notice it in 8.10 on the same machine.) I can reproduce it easily. Sometimes the crash occurs as soon as the drag operation is commenced. Lately I've been noticing it when copying files from an SMB mount. I haven't tested whether the problem is exclusive to that. I have been seeing stuff like:
[415439.660824] CIFS VFS: No response for cmd 50 mid 30 [415439.811663] CIFS VFS: No response for cmd 114 mid 33 in the kernel log, but I've seen those at times other than when nautilus crashes. (They seem to be another artifact of the buggy 9.04 environment. Don't recall seeing them in 8.10.) My /var/crash directory is empty. But I can easily follow any recommended procedure for capturing crash data. (This leaves the desktop devoid of icons. Is there a recommended procedure for restarting the nautilus instance used to render the desktop?) -- Nautilus drag and drop crash https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/251456 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
