Public bug reported: Binary package hint: consolekit
Screen went blank when trying so save a pdf from evince, system didn't respond to any key combination and had to be hard-rebooted. The only information I found in logs at the crash moment is: Jul 15 23:38:50 sanitarium-laptop console-kit-daemon[2595]: GLib-GObject-WARNING: IA__g_object_get_valist: value location for `gchararray' passed as NULL Jul 15 23:38:51 sanitarium-laptop init: tty4 main process (2283) killed by TERM signal Jul 15 23:38:51 sanitarium-laptop init: tty5 main process (2284) killed by TERM signal Jul 15 23:38:51 sanitarium-laptop init: tty2 main process (2287) killed by TERM signal Jul 15 23:38:51 sanitarium-laptop init: tty3 main process (2290) killed by TERM signal Jul 15 23:38:51 sanitarium-laptop init: tty6 main process (2291) killed by TERM signal Jul 15 23:38:51 sanitarium-laptop init: tty1 main process (3109) killed by TERM signal Jul 15 23:38:53 sanitarium-laptop console-kit-daemon[2595]: GLib-GObject-WARNING: instance with invalid (NULL) class pointer Jul 15 23:38:53 sanitarium-laptop console-kit-daemon[2595]: GLib-GObject-CRITICAL: g_signal_emit_valist: assertion `G_TYPE_CHECK_INSTANCE (instance)' failed Jul 15 23:38:53 sanitarium-laptop console-kit-daemon[2595]: GLib-GObject-CRITICAL: g_object_unref: assertion `G_IS_OBJECT (object)' failed leading me to the conclusion that consolekit is the culprit.
