Public bug reported:

I have tried everything to fix this but none of the other bug reports
have helped me so far so I thought that I would report all my problems
with the ATI drivers

1. After installation Ubuntu fails to start and all I see is a couple of
Ubuntu logos on my screen.

2. IF Ubuntu dosent fail to start (and that does not happen often) the
resolution for my screen is set to 1024x768. This can sometimes be
changed in the CatalystControlCenter for ATI but only sometimes. If
successfully changed it holds untill i shut down or restart my computer.

3.Before installing any ATI drivers my screens (or screen, I'm only using one
right now) is successfully recognised and the resolution can be changed and
stays that way. After the install however i get nothing but trouble.
                     1. It says that i have two screens connected when i only
have one. And it dosent recongnize my screen.
                     2. i'm using the secondary output on my ATI card (because
the primary one is slightly broken.) My viewsonic supports up to 1680x1050 wide
but now the highest resolution i can use for the secondary port is 1024x768.

4.I had the bug with the gnome-display-properties using 100% of the
processor core but that got fixed when I used a patch from this site.
Thank you for that.

I'm running on a Intel C2D 1,8Ghz
ATI 3870HD

I apologize for bad english, repeating the same bug over and over, and that i
lack the skill to explain my problems fully.
