Public bug reported: Binary package hint: linux-generic
After installing the 2.6.28-11 and -13 kernels, I experienced disk corruption. The machine would work fine, sometimes for hours, but a reboot would end up with a corrupted file system. EXT3 couldn't just replay the log -- I actually ended up with a ton of files in lost+found & corruption in files on disk. Reverting to 2.6.27-11 fixes the problem. I also tried 2.6.31-2 from Karmic and didn't have any problems. System76 laptop 4GB RAM separate / and /home partitions, both ext3, both got corrupted. ** Affects: linux-ports-meta (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- kernel 2.6.28-13 causes disk corruption on 64bit https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/399314 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
