Public bug reported: (it may be a dupe but I'm not 100% sure)
After I rebooted to newly installed 2.6.28-13-generic kernel image, wireless connection stopped to work (interface shows up but is not configured, don't get an address). Rebooting the same machine to 2.6.28-11-generic resolves the problem (without any other actions, just picking older kernel on grub screen), network works then without any problems.
