Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: gvfs

(I'm not sure if this bug belongs to gvfs, DeviceKit or PolicyKit, I'm
sorry.)

Every time I plug an external device, a prompt pops up asking for a
password in order to mount the plugged device. If I cancel the prompt
and then try to mount the device using Nautilus, the device is
successfully mounted without asking for any password. I can also mount
the device using "gvfs-mount -d /dev/sd?#".

If the device can be mounted without typing a password, I think the
auto-mount functionality should work the same way.
