Public bug reported:

When I try to run an upgrade with current Karmic, this error occurs:

sudo dpkg -i /var/cache/apt/archives/dpkg_1.15.3.1ubuntu1_amd64.deb
(Reading database ... 384589 files and directories currently installed.)

subprocess pre-installation script returned error exit status 1
Errors were encountered while processing:

and:

occurs:pkg_1.15.3.1ubuntu1_amd64.deb

So it seems that there are a bug somewhere in the package.

This bug is really similar to
https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/dpkg/+bug/397498 but as it
seems that this bug has been closed I opening a new one just in case.
