** Description changed: Binary package hint: nautilus With Karmic I notice a strange behavior of nautilus. When I use Nautilus to launch a video file from my video folder, the nautilus window often becomes non-responsive while the video is playing. There is no difference wether I use totem or vlc to play the videos. No problems with Jaunty. I also experience bug #384410, maybe there is some relationship. This is what I get in the logfiles as soon as nautilus becomes non- responsive: - messages: - Jul 8 23:03:42 morryis-desktop kernel: [45648.627762] __ratelimit: 352 callbacks suppressed - Jul 8 23:03:42 morryis-desktop kernel: [45648.627764] vmap allocation for size 20480 failed: use vmalloc=<size> to increase size. - Jul 8 23:03:42 morryis-desktop kernel: [45648.627901] vmap allocation for size 20480 failed: use vmalloc=<size> to increase size. - Jul 8 23:03:42 morryis-desktop kernel: [45648.628029] vmap allocation for size 20480 failed: use vmalloc=<size> to increase size. - Jul 8 23:03:42 morryis-desktop kernel: [45648.628157] vmap allocation for size 20480 failed: use vmalloc=<size> to increase size. - Jul 8 23:03:42 morryis-desktop kernel: [45648.628286] vmap allocation for size 20480 failed: use vmalloc=<size> to increase size. - Jul 8 23:03:42 morryis-desktop kernel: [45648.628412] vmap allocation for size 20480 failed: use vmalloc=<size> to increase size. - Jul 8 23:03:42 morryis-desktop kernel: [45648.628542] vmap allocation for size 20480 failed: use vmalloc=<size> to increase size. - Jul 8 23:03:42 morryis-desktop kernel: [45648.628671] vmap allocation for size 20480 failed: use vmalloc=<size> to increase size. - Jul 8 23:03:42 morryis-desktop kernel: [45648.628800] vmap allocation for size 20480 failed: use vmalloc=<size> to increase size. - Jul 8 23:03:42 morryis-desktop kernel: [45648.628927] vmap allocation for size 20480 failed: use vmalloc=<size> to increase size. - - syslog: - Jul 8 23:03:42 morryis-desktop kernel: [45648.629065] Write-error on swap-device (251:0:257056) - Jul 8 23:03:42 morryis-desktop kernel: [45648.629190] compcache: Error allocating memory for compressed page: 32133, size=3310 - Jul 8 23:03:42 morryis-desktop kernel: [45648.629193] Write-error on swap-device (251:0:257064) - Jul 8 23:03:42 morryis-desktop kernel: [45648.629317] compcache: Error allocating memory for compressed page: 32134, size=3166 - Jul 8 23:03:42 morryis-desktop kernel: [45648.629319] Write-error on swap-device (251:0:257072) - Jul 8 23:03:42 morryis-desktop kernel: [45648.629442] compcache: Error allocating memory for compressed page: 32135, size=3200 - ... - auth.log: Jul 8 23:03:25 morryis-desktop dbus-daemon: Rejected send message, 1 matched rules; type="method_call", sender=":1.147" (uid=1000 pid=11380 comm="/usr/lib/indicator-applet/indicator-applet --oaf-a") interface="org.freedesktop.DBus.Properties" member="Get" error name="(unset)" requested_reply=0 destination=":1.235" (uid=1000 pid=20843 comm="vlc /media/Archiv/Videos/Das Wunder der Musik.mpg ")) + + EDIT: I deleted some log-entries from this description as those error- + messages were probably not related to this bug.
