@Tomrod Volden With the link you provided I activated KMS on 2.6.30-10 (xorg-edgers on jaunty). With full update from xorg-edgers ... the performance is ... breath-taking.... wow.. (with compiz) (2.6.30-10 doesn't like virtual size setting in xorg.conf, Xserver crashes on startup.)
