After a long and painfull period I decided to switch to wicd which as been working flawlessly for me. Today I retried to install plasma- widget-networkmanagement and the results were the same. I know solid has a wicd backend. Why couldn't this plasmoid use it? Then again, I also tried the gnome NetworkManager widget and it works fine which means that the bug is on kde side and not the backend. What do the upstream devs say about this?
