I got the acpi.tar.gz with another boot option - probably pnpacpi=off. ** Attachment added: "acpi.tar.gz" http://launchpadlibrarian.net/28774836/acpi.tar.gz
** Description changed: Binary package hint: acpi-support Dear all, - I've installed Ubuntu 9.04 on my Toshiba Satellite M20X (cf. dmidecode attachment). It runs fine if I start with acpi=off (or acpi=ht). If I start with one off {pci=noacpi, acpi=noirq, pnpacpi=off, noapic}, I can switch to the console and work there (at least for 10 minutes - I haven't tried more). If I log in in X11, it freeze after less than a minute. If I'm lucky I can log dmesg, cf. attachment. With freeze I mean, that: - 1. no keyboard input works - not even the switch to a console (Alt-F2), + I've installed Ubuntu 9.04 on my Toshiba Satellite M20X (cf. dmidecode attachment). With freeze I mean, that: + 1. no keyboard input works - not even the switch to a console (Ctrl-Alt-F2), 2. no mouse button works, 3. the mouse cursor works only sometimes, but never activates anything anymore, 4. a 'sleep 300 && reboot' does not work anymore, although I've issued it earlier on a console! This forces on me to choose either X11 without battery- and acpi-control or console-only interface :-(( ! I've attached the uname, lspci, dmidecode, kern.log.0, dmesg, and acpi.tar.gz. If you need more information to track this down, don't hesitate to ask me. acpi: Installiert: (keine) Kandidat: 1.2-1ubuntu1 Versions-Tabelle: 1.2-1ubuntu1 0 500 http://de.archive.ubuntu.com jaunty/universe Packages xorg: Installiert: 1:7.4~5ubuntu18 Kandidat: 1:7.4~5ubuntu18 Versions-Tabelle: *** 1:7.4~5ubuntu18 0 500 http://de.archive.ubuntu.com jaunty/main Packages 100 /var/lib/dpkg/status ** Description changed: Binary package hint: acpi-support Dear all, - I've installed Ubuntu 9.04 on my Toshiba Satellite M20X (cf. dmidecode attachment).
