That shouldn't be necessary. It would probably be nice to have the output of `xvinfo` both with and without KMS. Also, are you on 32-bit or 64-bit? With that information I think this is more or less ready to go upstream. If you feel that you are up to it, you can do it yourself. Otherwise I can put together a report once time permits.
