I did not get the point you made.

use our PPA's backporting:

http://packages.ubuntu.com/hardy-backports/web/
there is no firefox package whatever

https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-mozilla-security/+archive/ppa has
firefox-3.5 (RELEASE) and xulrunner-1.9.1 for jaunty only

https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-mozilla-daily/+archive/ppa has the
unstable development branches only


is too risky to system: ?!? what do you mean?

plain vanilla release build from mozilla.com works like a charm, no
problems found yet
