Public bug reported: I'm trying to use thunderbird from terminal -
thunderbird --compose attachment="file:///rete_notturna_bus_metro.pdf" I use this instruction in a script that sends files to thunderbird. In order to debug the script, I realize that the problem exists also in executing instruction from terminal : thunderbird opens a new windows with correct file, allows me to write destination address and object of the email, then, when I send the message, it fails saying that it is impossible to open the temporary file (name of the attached file) and asks me to check permissions of temporary folder; I tried many times to adjust permissions of /tmp, but wasn't able to find a working one; BTW, the instructions fails also if executed as root. Thunderbird works properly if used from GUI and not from terminal Thunderbird works properly from terminal if no attachment is added Paolo ** Affects: thunderbird (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New ** Description changed: I'm trying to use thunderbird from terminal - thunderbird --compose attachment="file:///rete_notturna_bus_metro.pdf" I use this instruction in a script that sends files to thunderbird.
