I can confirm the same situation on Samsung Q320 with nVidia GeForce 105M (Korean version, Q320-BS21, there is only 01LH firmware at the moment) and 64bit Jaunty.
The keys for backlight/brightness have the same codes as R510, there is one more for DVD/CD reject (e03a), both plugging and unplugging of external power shows the "thermometer" of expected backlight level, but no change provided.
