Public bug reported: Recently my system has been updated the kernel to 2.6.28-13-generic. After this upgrade my guest OS in kvm does not start. If I load the previous kernel 2.6.28-11-generic, then everything works fine. Usually, I start kvm with the parameters
kvm -no-acpi -m 256 /home/and/Windows/image -redir tcp:5555::80 -soundhw es1370 But even in this form kvm -no-acpi -m 256 /home/and/Windows/image the guest OS can not start. My guest OS is Windows XP. It freezes right before it is supposed to show its logo (black screen with the sign "Windows XP" and a progress bar under the sign). ** Affects: ubuntu Importance: Undecided Status: New -- after upgrading the kernel from 2.6.28-11-generic to 2.6.28-13-generic Windows XP is unable to start in kvm https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/395356 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
