All is fine on my spare e machines. 8.10 works flawlessly. I tried to install 7.10 on my primary machine. After a resolution problem it went in. But I can not load any repositories for 7.10. It does how ever see all cds/dvds. Since the repositories will not refresh It was an exercise in futility. can not even istall sound converter. Since i7.10 sees them I assume it is not a hardware problem. I am really frustrated. MS won't let me reinstall my oem XP install and 7.10 is useless to me without access to repos. It is a programing problem. thanks to 8.o4 and MS not accepting keys for oem installs any more I essentially have a 1000 dollar net book. I assume I am not the only one too. Every person I turned on to Ubuntu loved 7.10 but went back t MS after 8.10 upgrade since it broke writing ability. I can not recommend something that does not work!!
