Well, according to that article it doesn't necessarily have any
meaningful units.

I'm not sure what this is asking.  I think it would be better if it the
font settings showed point units instead of being a meaningless number,
and I think point units would be better than px units.

On my screen, with 128 pixels per inch, the "8" setting is pretty good.
If I create monospace text in Firefox at 8pt or the equivalent 14.2px,
it is the same size as text in Gedit.
