Public bug reported:

Hi, I'm a long time user of kde3 and am trying kubuntu 9.04 x86_64 with
KDE 4.2.2. This is a fresh install on a core duo Dell D630 laptop. I
have several "keyboard input" type of hotkeys setup which dramatically
speed my email work.

In KDE4.2.2 I use System Settings -> Input Actions to get to the hotkeys
configuring interface. When checking in the "Examples" section, I
enabled the group and also the Type 'Hello' action. But nowhere is the
ability to set what is typed, nor does it actually work. There should be
a way to alter it in the "Actions" tab, but its area is empty.

I checked ~/.kde/share/khotkeysrc and found what I expected...
[Data_1_2]
Comment= [ snip ]
Enabled=true
Name=Type 'Hello'
Type=SIMPLE_ACTION_DATA

[Data_1_2Actions]
ActionsCount=1

[Data_1_2Actions0]
ActiveWindow=false
Input=Shift+H:E:L:L:O\n
IsDestinationWindow=false
Type=KEYBOARD_INPUT

I also tried using the relevant Data_x_x section from my previous khotkeysrc,
which made the section and my old inputs show up in System Settings -> Input
Actions but the keyboard inputs don't work. My other hotkeys for launching
programs does work though.

I really look forward to finding a solution so I can start using kubuntu
9.04 and KDE4.2.2 at work. Is there any other info I can help with?

Thanks,
Chris
