Hi, Not sure if this is helpful, but I got this crash today when logging out of gnome. The machine hung at exactly the point where normally gdm would restart. I was using the "nv" driver and was about to install the proprietary nvidia driver. The only thing that I can think of that might be relevant (following from posts above) is that the video card I'm using is quite new (a GTS250), so maybe causes bugs in nv. (maybe...)
