I may be wrong, but I think I've the same problem on Feisty under gnome. It used to work fine for a couple of days, then the system suddenly started being unable to connect to the network. Any setting made via "network-admin" is -in a sense- forgotten as soon as I close the window and network: anytime I try to configure the network device, I gets back to the unconfigured status as soon as I close the window.
Anyway I cannot (I might simply not be able!) restore network connectivity: neither using static IP or DHCP. PS. These is one of the first bug I try to report. I'm really looking forward to receive your feedback in order to improve the effectiveness of my reports.
