** Description changed: On my laptop HP dv5 1030 el, sound don't work after upgrade of acpid. My system is kubuntu jaunty 9.04 - i tested the problem with kubunto for amd64 and i386 system. - i tested with kde 4.2.2 and kde 4.3 beta2 of kubuntu team ppa + i have tested the problem with kubunt for amd64 and i386 system. + i have tested with kde 4.2.2 and kde 4.3 beta2 of kubuntu team ppa - No system sounds (i.e. no sound for Login/Logout, error messages, beep, etc.). When going to System Settings -> Notifications -> KDE System Notifications and tried to play any of the sounds there, nothing happened. - No sound in amarok, dragon player, kaffeine, vlc, ect. - i tested my system with live cd and i have the sound. + i have tested my system with live cd and i have the sound. i have installed the upgrade of acpid in live cd session and it don't work again. the full name of upgrade is acpid 1.0.6/9 ubuntu 4.9.04.3 ps excuse me for my english but i don't speak it very well
