Public bug reported: Binary package hint: sysvinit
The current implementation of /usr/bin/service uses invoke-rc.d. This is wrong; invoke-rc.d is a policy interface for maintainer scripts *only*, and user invocations of init scripts should *not* honor these runlevel policies: a manual request to run a service should always be honored.
