I managed to fix the problem. I suppose the pulse audio had some sort of problem, but I switched the sound playback for music and movies from autodetect to ALSA (System->Preferences->Sound). I don't know if my pulse audio works properly or not, or what caused the problem, but we're all good now so bug solved.
