Still the same with feisty. ** Also affects: linux-restricted-modules-2.6.20 (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: Unconfirmed
** Summary changed: - [edgy] installing nvidia-glx pulls linux-restricted-modules-386 + installing nvidia-glx pulls linux-restricted-modules-386 ** Description changed: I'm installing machines automatically, and the package list is preseeded. However, I noticed that the machines don't boot after the first phase, since the -386 kernel gets installed and grub sees it as the default kernel (and it fails mounting the root). The reason is that while -generic kernel gets also installed, nvidia-glx doesn't pull -generic version of restricted-modules, but instead the -386 which in turn pulls linux-image-...-386. - - I probably can work around this by explicitly adding linux-resctricted- - modules-generic to the list of packages, but somehow nvidia-glx managed - to install correct linux-restricted-modules-foo on dapper. -- installing nvidia-glx pulls linux-restricted-modules-386 https://launchpad.net/bugs/68621 -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
