I must have spent a good two hours beating my head against the wall until I "un-hid" my SSID. As soon as I did that, this worked.
Kubuntu 9.04, 32bit, Broadcom Corporation BCM4306 802.11b/g (rev 02). Please see if this can get fixed soon. This is, in my opinion, pretty bad.
