I too have the same problem with Jaunty. I attach the resulting debug log of running brasero with the options you indicate, and hope it helps.
This one's a real showstopper for newbies, since when it happens, with the default config, people who get the bug are unable to burn audio cds unless they deactivate the plugin or install more software.
