Public bug reported: I followed the instructions in https://help.ubuntu.com/community/Kernel/Compile#Alternate%20Build%20Method:%20The %20Old-Fashioned%20Debian%20Way to compile the kernel based on 'generic' configuration and added PAE support (CONFIG_X86_PAE=y). Based on 2.6.28-9 (jaunty)
When I reboot, the kernel still sees only 3GB. Installing the 'server' version the kernel sees 4GB (but the server version has other problems) I use a thinkpad T61. ** Affects: ubuntu Importance: Undecided Status: New -- Enabling PAE support does not make the kernel use 4GB of memory https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/388818 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
