OK, I have the same version Macbook Pro.  It's running an Atheros Wi-Fi
card.  The standard driver for the Atheros card in your machine is
called "ath9k".  As there's still quite a bit of development work
happening on this driver, your best bet is to install the package
"linux-backports-modules-jaunty", which will pull a more up-to-date
version of "ath9k".  Most folks I know that have done this seem to be
pretty happy with improvements in Wi-Fi stability.
