Ok building the ddeb yourself is apperently simple. Editing debian/rules.d/0-common-vars.mk and replacing the two (2) instances of skipdbg=true with skipdbg=false will produce a linux-image-debug when compiled as described there: https://help.ubuntu.com/community/Kernel/Compile
