Yes, the profiles are untouched since the system was installed. I never used apparmor. The profiles certainly do not match what's on the machine, which can cause problems *if and only if* apparmor should start. Yes, the mysql files are in a location not configured & not permitted by apparmor. Again - I made the choice of not using apparmor. I disabled it according to: https://wiki.ubuntu.com/UsingAppArmor. I don't need apparmor. Please do not second guess my choices and simply fix this by not touching apparmor unless necessary, during update. If there is any other (better) way to disable / remove apparmor so that this problem goes away, please suggest it here. I just followed the documentation.
