Essentially here we have a new check for the BIOS corrupting low memory.
Intrepid did not have this check so would never have failed in this way.
This failure most likely indicates that you BIOS has a flaw, but it is
unlikely to be worth trying to figure out the flaw and you are even less
likely to get support for the BIOS.

As the option is working for you I would call this one fixed as much as
it can be.  I will close this one off 'Fixed'.
